DSA press release
Seal of approval for car test
The Driving Standards Agency’s car driving test has achieved a prestigious accreditation for quality assurance.
The company BSI Management Systems was chosen to carry out the ISO 9001:2008 accreditation, an internationally recognised standard of quality management systems. It gives DSA an independent, externally-recognised accreditation of its established quality assurance process that ensures car driving tests are delivered to a fair, uniform and consistent standard
Chief Executive Officer Rosemary Thew said:” Working with the ISO Standard helped us look carefully at our quality assurance process and has resulted in some improvements along the way. And we have a more effective feedback mechanism in place for driving examiners following a quality assurance visit.”
Gaining ISO 9001 : 2008 accreditation involved the awarding body, BSI, observing the Quality Assurance Teams at work in test centres across the country carrying out their QA work, and listening to the post test debrief. The BSI assessors also audited the training of QA assessors at Cardington as well as reviewing management procedures during a two day visit to DSA headquarters
